This is our grouping, drawn from the City's planning district map rather than any official boundary: five districts east of Central London. Downtown London and Woodfield's heritage streets sit just west, inside the City's Central London district, so we treat them separately. Fanshawe College's main campus is in Huron Heights, a district that borders Argyle and that we group with North London.
"London East" on MLS® listings is a label the real estate board uses, with its own boundary, so the two will not always line up.
It depends on the district. The Old East Village holds the quadrant's heritage district and its most mixed housing: in 2016 its homes were 47% single-detached, with apartments and duplex flats making up much of the rest. Hamilton Road is mainly detached houses, Argyle adds a large share of row housing, and Jackson is almost entirely detached, owner-occupied homes, nearly all built since the mid-1990s, when the district had just 25 residents.
The Old East Village and Hamilton Road are both Main Streets in The London Plan, which describes them as historic business areas mixing homes and shops that serve the surrounding neighbourhoods. In the heritage district, alterations to designated properties go through the City's Heritage Alteration Permit process. If you are weighing a duplex or a house with a rental unit, check the City's current rules first and read up on buying an investment property.

No. "London East" is the area the real estate board uses to file listings. Our East London is five City planning districts, so the two sets of listings overlap but are not identical.
Not the way we count it. Downtown and Woodfield are in the City's Central London district, just west of the Old East Village, so we treat them as areas of their own.
In the City's East London planning district, the area we call the Old East Village.
London International Airport, at 10 Seabrook Way, is in the City's Airport planning district, which borders Argyle to the northeast, so Argyle is the part of the east end nearest to it.
